Immaculate
Heart of Mary Chapel 3/13 Robert Morton
Broadway (between 76th & 77th St.) North Bergen, NJ
History
The 3/13 Robert Morton Theatre Pipe Organ was originally installed in 1928 in the New Embassy Theatre in North Bergen. It was removed and placed in the Broadway Theatre when it became the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel a satellite of Saint Joseph of the Palisades Catholic Church.
Due to an accident, the console was badly damaged and GSTOS was asked to repair it. A contract was signed and the old console was removed and replaced by another taken from the Keith's Richmond Hill Theatre (a 3/13 was installed there in 1928) in Queens, NY.
GSTOS crew members spent many hours rebuilding and attaching the console to the pipes. The organ was completed and is used for church services and concerts. Jeff Barker has maintained the organ with loving care and is the organist for the chapel. --Source Oct 1996 GSTOS Newsletter
